ARTIST BIO

My name is Kaylen Parcell; I am a down-to-earth, incredibly thankful Artist and 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher.
Art is something that has always been a must in my life, almost as if it were ingrained in my soul before I had a chance to decide otherwise. And for that I am so eternally grateful.
I am very proud to say I am a self taught visual artist who practices her art on a daily basis without fail continually delving into multiple mediums. Art for me is my own secret paradise I get to escape to; my only hope is my work helps people take a moment to feel the same. Even if just one person gets to slow down, I have succeeded.
I have done commission work for ten years; with every piece holding a place in my heart. Soon I will be reaching out to local galleries for upcoming show submissions and seeking mural work as well.
Everyday on a personal level; as a mother, business owner, woman, wife, human, I try to improve myself and the same goes for my business and artistry. I hope that shows through my photos here.
As an artistic professional, I’m always looking for the next opportunity to translate what I experience into art. I’ve led a life fully devoted to the arts. It’s no lie to say I live, breathe and dream of art.
I have experience in a range of media, although I have my own particular preferences that I keep coming back to. If my style speaks to you, I’d love to work with you in the future. Please be in touch to find out more and to discuss how we can collaborate on whatever you have in mind.
"ART IS STANDING WITH ONE HAND EXTENDED INTO THE UNIVERSE AND ONE HAND EXTENDED INTO THE WORLD, AND LETTING OURSELVES BE A CONDUIT FOR PASSING ENERGY."
- ALBERT EINSTEIN
BEHIND THE ART
As humans a core desire we all have is connection. Connection with our true selves, with other people, a higher power; these are all things we notice within ourselves and act upon.
For me, ever since I was little I had a strong desire to create and make art. Little did I know that magnetic pull I had within me would fulfill my core desire for connection. Not just with myself, but with others and even that higher power we all speak of.
“There is one mind common to all individual men,” said Ralph Waldo Emerson, who compared our individual minds to the inlets in an ocean of universal mind.
Thomas Edison believed that he got some of his ideas from a source outside himself. Once, when complimented for a creative idea, he disclaimed credit, saying that “ideas are in the air,” and if he had not discovered it, someone else would have.”
Dr. J. B. Rhine, as head of Duke University’s Parapsychology Laboratory, proved experimentally that man has access to knowledge, facts, and ideas other than his own individual memory or stored information from learning or experience. Telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition have been established by scientific laboratory experiments.”
Excerpt From
Psycho-Cybernetics
Maxwell Maltz
When reading this book I recognized that the creative inspiration “the greats” talked about, specifically on how they got their ideas and visions, were exactly how I received my own. From an outside source or something more collective than what I have stored within my own brain. For me, this realization was significant. My adult brain reiterated to my childhood heart that this was indeed a soul connection; and that my artistry was something much bigger than myself. And hey - it’s even backed up by some science.
The more I delve into my spirituality and psychology; the more I notice how connected science and spiritual higher power truly are.
Within my art you’ll see expressions of connection, energy, feminism and fluid sexuality.
I’m so grateful for every moment I get to create; and I’m even more grateful people take the time to appreciate it.
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read a piece of my mind.
